The Threats Posed by Viruses on Computers and Systems

Braxbro, Inc. is a Bakersfield, California company that provides software development and IT support solutions to small businesses through a Managed Service Provider model. As part of its managed security solution, Braxbro, Inc. targets a full range of potential virus threats and performs regular vulnerability scans and reports.

There are many types of viruses that can infect computers and networks, such as resident viruses that take root in the computer’s RAM and impact system operations. These are often so well embedded that they become attached to the anti-virus software programs.

Another problematic virus is the multipartite virus, which does not limit its action to one segment of the computer, but performs unauthorized actions on programs, folders, and the operating system. This stands in contrast to the direct action virus, which seeks out a specific executable file type and is often relatively simple to identify and remove.

Some viruses overwrite file content in ways that infect the entire range of programs, files, and folders. Others are embedded on the Internet, with web scripting viruses disgusting themself in site code, links, ads, videos, and images. When malicious sites are visited, or malicious files downloaded, computers can become infected.
